Celebratory Giveaway – yay! – updated

I have decided to celebrate my humble blogging achievements with a giveaway of your choosing (how fun).

I have been blogging for almost two months now and I’m so proud to have published over 50 posts, have over 100 followers and have attracted over 4,500 visitors. The posts would be meaningless without the readers and followers so I thank you for stopping by. I have also been humbled by several blogging awards from my various blogging buddies which I am so grateful for.

Overall I have been loving the blogging process. I enjoy sharing my endeavors of domestic homemaker bliss vs working women with you all and getting your advice on the matter. I also love that I now take more time to document my hobbies through pictures and am able to share them with an audience who appreciates the same pleasures in life (don’t have to keep bugging The Hubby – he is thankful too).

I hope I can continue to entertain and amuse you all with my little corner of the world.

Okay so onto the good stuff. I have a feeling that most of my readers love baking, crafting or both. But I didn’t want to skew this give away to either the crafters or the cooks.

So I have a choice of two giveaways and the winner will take their pick.

Option 1 – Chocolate by Donna Hay

From an indulgent tiered cake topped with lashings of rich milk chocolate icing, to petite cups of chocolate cheesecake and crunchy wedges of honeycomb-studded rocky road, these wickedly tempting recipes will satisfy any devoted chocoholic.

Option 2 – Sewing Bits and Pieces: 35 Projects Using Fabric Scraps by Sandi Henderson

Turn your favorite fabric scraps into fresh and fun handcrafted treasures Want to use every last one of your favorite designer scraps, but aren’t sure what to do with oddly shaped and sized leftovers? Fabric designer Sandi Henderson holds to the adage “waste not, want not” to deliver a collection of innovative sewing projects that lets you make the most of the bits and pieces of your beloved fabrics. Whether you’re looking for a way to stretch your sewing dollar, just can’t part with your favorite fabrics, or are looking for innovative projects from one of today’s top designers, Sewing Bits & Pieces shows you how to make unique pieces for yourself, your kids, or your home

To enter the giveaway all you have to do is:

  • be one of my followers
  • “like” The Modern Home Economist page on Facebook (found on my side bar). UPDATE: I do not want to discriminate against people who do not have Facebook (I just opened an account last week!). If you do not have an account just state it in your comment below
  • comment at the end of this post stating the giveaway of your choice…
  • UPDATE: I am happy to request submissions from anywhere in the world as I know I have a lot of followers overseas

I will randomly draw the winner on Monday 30th April 2012 and then email the winner for their details.

Good luck and thanks for reading…

  1. Congratulations and celebrating is always fun. I already follow your blog and just became a fan on FaceBook. I’m not sure if your giveaway includes the States, but I love Option#2 .

  2. What a fab idea! Our blogs are about the same age. My sewing is going OK but my baking could be improved a lot so the baking book would be my choice if I was lucky enough to win 🙂 Congratulations on having a very inspirational blog!!

  3. Just found your blog. I can’t believe it’s only a newborn blog. Well done! I love Sandi Henderson… I have some of her fabric but didn’t know she had a book. Where have I been?

  4. I like you on facebook and receive your great email updates about posts. I would love the sewing book if I were lucky enough to win!
